Maintenance & Repair

The most important thing a client can do to help lengthen the longevity of their new sign is regular cleaning maintenance.  Though not a difficult thing to do most people tend to overlook the fact that signs, especially wood, need to be cleaned to help protect your business property and image.

We recommend cleaning with mild soap and water once in the spring and again in the late fall just before the winter season.  Over the winter months dust, dirt and especially salt build up on the sign surface and starts to break down the bond between the paint and substrate.  During the warmer months you'd want to quickly inspect the sign and help rid any bugs and nests that might build up along the corners.

Since starting our business back in 1992, we are always pleased when we see one of our earlier projects looking as good as the day it did when we first installed it.  This can only happen with regular inspections and cleaning.

A service is offered to clients who have purchased a sand-blasted sign from us in the past to potentially refurbish a worn or damaged sign.  The project below is a fairly new sign that was originally constructed in 1999 but had vandalism damage.  We were able to hand-clean and remove the pooled paint or stain, re-prime and update the painted surfaces.  This service is based on a per project availability based on condition of the sign and replacement costs towards a new sign.  If you're interested in this service please do not hesistate to contact us directly.

One of two refurbished signs for the town of Berkshire.

We gave the town the option of refurbishing both of their town signs
though only one needed the repair.  With a project like this what better
time than now to update colors and create a fresh look.

Repair of sign involved hand cleaning each
level of grain to help ensure removal
of most of pooled paint before priming.
